Agriculture has been sitting at the heart of some of the world’s most pressing challenges for years: food security and nutrition, water and soil quality, biodiversity, and sustainable livelihoods.Currently, there is low access to modern agricultural information & practices among Indian farmers, which has resulted in gaps in crop production practices. In addition Crop agriculture in India is constrained every year by challenges, such as a) Loss of Arabie Land, b) Population Growth, c) Climate Changes, d) Inadequate Management Practices & f) Right price
About Program :
We, Bharatiya Jana Seva Mission ( BJSM ) is the top Agriculture NGO based in India , Our program model is one where natural resource management and work for food security is encouraged. BJSM is here to help to identify and deliver solutions that provide the farmer community with tools to help them build resilience and get through difficult times.
Our Capacity building training is regularly carried out where agriculture based ngo in India BJSM holds interventions for modern techno based Agriculture Sector , agri-input , modern farm machinery and creates awareness about the transfer of technology , assets, and promotes sustainable agriculture livelihoods in West Bengal, India .
Our Program Objectives as Agriculture NGO in India :
Our aims to involve smallholder farmer businesses sustainably in agricultural value chains, thereby improving their living conditions and economic situation. By building inclusive agricultural systems, smallholder farmers will have improved access to markets, information, and means of production.
• To create sustainable Agri livelihood for ultra poor section to elevate poverty .
• To educate farmers for doubling farmers income .
• To increase awareness & uses of Modern Agri Technology & Machinery .
• To prepare different extension models and verify these models in the farmers field with their participation to create confidence among them.
• To restore ecosystems services at the landscape level (soil health, water quality, biodiversity )
• To support small landholders/needy farmers for crop cultivation through provision of agri-input.
• To increase production of vegetables, fruits, wheat, Jute and rice.
• To improve status and their families and ensure their food security.
• To identify the area specific problems of the farmers and prioritisation of the identified problems as per their importance.
Agriculture based Program Activities in West Bengal :
• Regular Skill upgradation Training for Farmers on Agri based technology Transfer (Crop Management & Plant Protection, Advance method farming etc. )
• Seasonal Workshop Camp for Crop Management & improvement.
• Regulate Climate Smart Agriculture Practices .
• Regular Agriculture Input ( Seed , Organic Fertilizer etc. ) distribution and demonstration
• Regular Farm specific advisory services
• Distribution of Green Fodder Seeds/ Plant.
• Promote Organic Farming
