Over the years, Bharatiya Jana Seva Mission’s ( Best Govt. Registered NGO In Barasat , N 24 Pngs ) capacity has increased and the range of services we provide has expanded . The founder of the organisation is the first generation development activist in Barasat , along-with his companions who have also long experience in different areas of development In Barasat region .

Thus, Bharatiya Jana Seva Mission ,a Barasat based Non Government Organization became an organisation of a set of social workers with adequate educational and technical expertise including grass root people, with local level experiences in the areas of integrated development In Barasat area . Its participatory approach was method of practice from the very beginning of the organisation.

We have been working on Consumers Rights & Protection , Women Development, Entrepreneurship Development  &  Skill  , Environment , Handicraft , Agriculture & Animal husbandry as an alternative livelihood programme  .   Our interventions contribute to at least one of these six domains of change, which in the long-run will contribute towards improved working conditions, stronger workers’ voice and leadership of women in Barasat  and around the North 24 Parganas District .

Bharatiya Jana Seva Mission  believes that family is the focal point of social up-liftment and it attaches top priority on capacity building towards better livelihood , poor and disadvantage segment of population In Barasat . Bharatiya Jana Seva Mission  strongly believes that making people aware of a problem and inspiring them to solve that problem is the only effective way to facilitate the betterment of their lives . Being a people cantered organization, Bharatiya Jana Seva Mission , a Barasat based NGO has been using a rights-based approach to alleviate poverty, diversify livelihood opportunities and empower poor communities throughout the Barasat region with gradual expansion to other parts of the North 24 Parganas  .

We ensure that community people are involved in monitoring and developing of our programmes. We consult with community people and local organizations before we develop programmes in order to involve them in managing and reviewing our work. We believe in working with others. We do this through linkages with local communities, involving and influencing locally elected government representatives, working with government ministries and departments, local leaders, NGOs. etc.
