World Earth Day 2025 Celebration in India

On the occasion of World Earth Day, celebrated on April 22nd, 2025, Bharatiya Jana Seva Mission, , the top Tree planting NGO , organized a meaningful Tree Plantation Drive along the riverside areas of North 24 Parganas District, West Bengal, India . This initiative aimed at raising environmental awareness, restoring degraded land, and empowering underprivileged communities through participation in climate action.
The plantation drive was held in a vulnerable riverside zone, often affected by soil erosion and ecological degradation. Members of the underprivileged community—many of whom live in close proximity to the river—actively took part in planting native trees to protect both the soil structure and their natural habitat.
Tree plantation plays a vital role in stabilizing riverbanks, reducing erosion, and enhancing biodiversity. Through this drive, Bharatiya Jana Seva Mission not only marked Earth Day but also reinforced its commitment to climate resilience, sustainable community development, and environmental restoration.
This program is part of our larger environmental conservation campaign that aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 15 (Life on Land). By involving the local population directly, we aim to create a sense of ownership and long-term responsibility for natural resource management.
We believe small actions—like planting a tree—can lead to big changes when supported by collective community efforts. Through initiatives like this, we continue to build a greener and more sustainable future for generations to come.
