Wings to Shelter: Back to Nest Initiative for Bird Protection

On 13th September 2026, Bharatiya Jana Seva Mission continued its Back to Nest initiative in West Bengal, India, taking another meaningful step towards protecting birds and creating safer spaces for local wildlife.

With rapid urbanization, shrinking green spaces, and the continued loss of natural habitats, birds are finding it increasingly difficult to find safe places to build their nests. This initiative aims to provide them with a secure and sustainable alternative.

As part of the program, eco-friendly bird nests were carefully installed in suitable trees, offering birds a safe place to nest, rest, and raise their young.

The Back to Nest initiative is not only about providing shelter. It is also about creating awareness of the importance of bird conservation and encouraging communities to take simple, practical steps to protect nature.

Our dedicated members and volunteers played an important role in making the program successful. Their commitment, enthusiasm, and love for nature helped us carry out the work with care and responsibility.

Wildlife conservation is not limited to protecting forests and large animals. Birds and other small species are equally important to healthy ecosystems. Protecting their habitats helps maintain the natural balance of our environment.

As a Wildlife Conservation NGO in India, Bharatiya Jana Seva Mission is committed to supporting wildlife protection, promoting environmental awareness, and encouraging people to become active participants in conservation efforts.

Every nest we install represents a small but meaningful contribution towards creating a safer habitat for birds. When many such efforts come together, they can make a lasting difference for wildlife and the environment.

You can also support our conservation efforts by choosing to Donate for Wildlife. Your contribution can help us continue initiatives focused on bird protection, habitat conservation, and creating safer environments for wildlife.

Together, we can protect our feathered friends, conserve nature, and build a safer future for wildlife.
