Tree Plantation Drive in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India : Greening Communities & Supporting Livelihoods

On 5th March 2025, Bharatiya Jana Seva Mission, recognized as one of the top NGOs in India for forestation and climate action, organized a Tree Plantation Drive across villages in North 24 Parganas District, West Bengal , India . This initiative, which is a regular program, reflects our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and community empowerment.

During this drive, we planted Mango Trees — a strategic choice to combat the climate crisis while enhancing livelihood opportunities for underprivileged communities. These trees not only contribute to carbon sequestration and biodiversity restoration but also provide a sustainable source of income through fruit harvesting.

We are deeply grateful for the support of individual donors, whose generosity makes it possible to expand our green cover and uplift marginalized families. Their contributions help us continue this vital work, fostering a healthier planet and more resilient rural communities.

Key Highlights of the Program:

  • Location: Villages of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India
  • Tree Variety Planted: Mango Trees
  • Impact Areas: Climate Action, Food Security, Sustainable Livelihoods
  • Community Engagement: Active participation of local underprivileged families

As part of our 2025 Tree Plantation Goal to plant 1 lakh trees, this initiative brings us one step closer to a greener, more sustainable future.
