Aranya Saptaha 2024
Overview: The Aranya Saptaha Celebration 2024, a week-long event dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability through tree planting, was successfully carried out by Bharatiya Jana Seva Mission. This initiative was generously supported by the Forest Department, Govt. of West Bengal, Our special guest Dr.Bibartan Saha , Councillor , Barasat Municipality and We saw active participation from various community members, including school children.
Program Highlights:
18 July 2024 – Urban Area Plantation: On 18th July 2024, we reached a significant milestone by planting over 150 trees in the urban areas of North 24 Parganas District. This effort was aimed at enhancing the green cover in urban spaces and improving the air quality in the region.
Involvement of School Students: Primary school students (1st to 4th standard) played an enthusiastic role in the tree plantation activities. Their involvement not only contributed to the success of the plantation drive but also fostered a sense of environmental stewardship among young minds.
Program Continuation: The Aranya Saptaha Celebration 2024 will continue until 20th July 2024. We have several more tree plantation activities planned, ensuring that we surpass our goal of planting over 400 trees by the end of the celebration.
Impact and Future Plans: The trees planted during this week will contribute to the long-term environmental health of the region. We are committed to nurturing these saplings to ensure their growth and survival. Moving forward, Bharatiya Jana Seva Mission will continue to engage in similar initiatives, working towards a greener and more sustainable future.
